Jade Rabbit was written and recorded chronologically over the summer of 2018 at my home studio in London.
It's the result of a process I devised, using random number and word generators to seed ideas, keys and tempos for some of the songs. I also used a palette of original sampler instruments and sounds throughout, including a baby grand piano. The resulting record is an honest, raw and unpolished journal of that time in my life and, having left it on the shelf for a year, I've re-mixed and mastered it for release.
This is the start of a new chapter for me and I look forward to sharing more music very soon. I hope you find it worth your time and that you'll come along for the ride.
P.S. Some people have asked me if the record will be available on vinyl. I have no plans to make my music available physically as I've come to the conclusion that I just don't think it's environmentally responsible. I love the experience of listening to vinyl and owning records, but until they can be made from recycled/recyclable materials it's just not for me. Lossless digital files provide the best sound quality possible. Here on Bandcamp you can download this record as 48kHz 24bit WAV/FLAC files and hear the songs as I intend them to be experienced. Let's push things forward!
